Trial: Suspected right-wing terrorist confesses

Suspected terrorist of the “Kaiserreich Group” makes a confession in court in Düsseldorf.

A suspected terrorist from the right-wing “Kaiserreichsgruppe” has made a comprehensive confession before the Düsseldorf Higher Regional Court. He expressly admits membership in a terrorist organization and involvement in a planned act of high treason, the 49-year-old defendant had his defense attorney explain on Wednesday. “I would like to distance myself from my radical ideas at the time. The whole thing as such is correct. I just talked myself into this nonsense.”

He does not see himself as a Reich citizen. “I wanted to get out of the whole thing.” He increasingly distanced himself from the Reich citizen ideology and just did not know how to get out. Even then, he had refused to take part in a planned kidnapping of Angela Merkel. But he had declared himself willing to carry out attacks on power lines.
