The rescue of four hostages from Hamas captivity gives many Israelis hope – the relatives of the men and women who were further abducted now have a clear demand.
When the lifeguard on the beach in Tel Aviv reaches for the mouthpiece, the bathers turn around in surprise: “We are happy to announce,” echoes across the summer-hot beach promenade, “that four hostages have been rescued alive from the Gaza Strip.” The people break out into applause, cheering up to the lifeguard hut to show it.
Then he reads out the names of the four: Noa Argamani, Almog Meir Jan, Andrei Kozlov and Shlomi Ziv. “Am Israel Chai,” calls the lifeguard, “The people of Israel live,” the people at the stand call out with him.
