As CIA chief William Burns has now confirmed, 200 people are already affected. He has now set up a task force and intensified efforts to solve the riddle around the complaints.
Burns was determined to find the trigger for the mysterious illnesses, symptoms of which include migraine and dizziness. Among other things, he made a high-ranking official who once orchestrated the search for terrorist chief Osama bin Laden head of the Havana Syndrome task force. The medical team working on the case has been tripled. Havana Syndrome first appeared among US diplomats when they were working at the US embassy in Cuba in 2016. There is a “strong possibility” that the syndrome was caused on purpose and that Russia could be responsible, Burns said.
