Smoke is already rising over downtown Kiev when another rocket dives down from the morning sky. A second later, a clap of thunder echoes through the streets. The windows of nearby cafes shatter, dust falls from office buildings. The Russian KH-101 rocket hits a children’s hospital.
It is not yet clear how many people died in the impact on Monday. Rocket attacks also claimed victims in other parts of the country. In total, at least 41 people were killed in the attacks across the country, including four children. According to Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky, 200 people were injured, some seriously.
