There are weekly demonstrations in Berlin in the context of the Gaza war – this time in Steglitz and Schöneberg. This time it will not remain quiet.
Eight people were injured when a large pro-Palestinian demonstration in Berlin was broken up. As the Berlin fire department told the German Press Agency, one of them was seriously injured. The police broke up the demonstration in the evening. Beforehand, repeated calls of criminal offenses had been heard, the police said in response to an inquiry.
The demonstration started in Steglitz in the afternoon and moved towards Innsbrucker Platz. According to police, around 600 people took part in the afternoon.
According to the fire department, five injured people were taken to hospitals. All of the injured reported to the emergency services after the demonstration ended. Most of them had circulatory problems and minor injuries. According to a fire department spokesman, no tear gas was sprayed.
In addition to numerous Palestinian flags, people at the demonstration held up signs reading things like “Free Palestine from Israel’s Occupation.” The demonstration was registered under the title “Stop the Gaza Genocide.”
Since the Islamist Hamas terrorist attack on Israel on October 7, 2023, there have been weekly demonstrations in Berlin in the context of the Gaza war.
