Melania Trump had hardly spoken publicly recently and had played no public role in Trump’s election campaign.
“When I saw that violent bullet strike my husband, Donald, I realized that my life and the life of (our son) Barron were about to change in a devastating way,” Melania Trump wrote. She thanked the “courageous” Secret Service bodyguards and security guards who risked their own lives to protect her husband.
