Melania Trump calls assassin a “monster” and calls for unity

Melania Trump has not played a role in her husband’s election campaign so far. But after the shooting of Donald Trump, she has spoken out.

After the attack on her husband, former First Lady Melania Trump called the perpetrator a “monster” and called on Americans to reconcile. The attacker aimed to erase the humanity and passion of her husband Donald Trump. “Donald, the generous and loving man with whom I experienced the best and the worst of times,” the former First Lady said in a letter published on the X platform. Melania Trump had hardly spoken publicly recently and had played no public role in Trump’s election campaign.

“When I saw that violent bullet strike my husband, Donald, I realized that my life and the life of (our son) Barron were about to change in a devastating way,” Melania Trump wrote. She thanked the “courageous” Secret Service bodyguards and security guards who risked their own lives to protect her husband.

Melania Trump and her appeal

The 78-year-old Republican ex-president said he was hit by a bullet in his right ear at a campaign event in the US state of Pennsylvania on Saturday. He is, however, doing well, it was said.

In her post, Melania Trump did not comment on her husband’s health or mental state. Instead, she appealed to the people of the USA to overcome the political divide. Ultimately, all Americans belong to families who are passionately fighting together for a better life – “beyond left and right,” she wrote. It is about overcoming the hatred and hostility that paves the way for violence.
