The prisoner exchange between Russia, Belarus and Western states is the largest since the Cold War. Two Kremlin critics involved speak about their experiences.
The exchange of 26 prisoners between Russia, Belarus and several Western states has kept the world on tenterhooks in recent days. Western politicians are stressing the success of freeing the political prisoners from prison, while critics are criticising the release of the Tiergarten murderer Vadim Krassikov, who has since been outed by the Kremlin as an FSB agent.

Kremlin critics Vladimir Kara-Mursa and Ilya Yashin were also part of the deal. Opposition politician Kara-Mursa was sentenced to 25 years in prison for high treason in Russia in April 2023. He had previously survived two poison attacks.
Kremlin critic and activist Ilya Yashin has been in Russian custody since the end of 2022. The reason was a YouTube video in which he denounced the war crimes committed by Russian troops in Bucha, Ukraine.
Both will speak about their situation and their experiences at a press conference with international journalists.
