The Ukrainian advance in the Kursk area is indeed the result of careful planning. In the weeks before the attack, the Ukrainians deliberately destroyed Russian communications facilities in this area. Only after this preparation did the forces of the 22nd Ukrainian mechanized brigade launch a surprise and accurate attack.
