The renowned Irish war photographer Ivor Prickett gained a rare insight into everyday life during the war in Sudan. Images of a journey full of despair, destruction – and moments of the greatest humanity.
A rare insight
As close as you can get: Foreign media have little access to Sudan. Ivor Prickett managed to get the necessary permission from the Sudanese armed forces (pictured).
He can be reached by phone in Istanbul. The Irishman lives there when he is not traveling in the world’s crisis regions. He has received various prestigious awards, such as the World Press Photo Award, for his work in Iraq, Syria and Ukraine.
