Barack Obama makes his grand entrance in Chicago. This is where his career began. This is where he became president. This is where he is building his museum. But Chicago is no longer “home”.
These days, Chicago is briefly the city of the Obamas again. A musical about Barack Obama is being performed at the Epiphany Center – called “44”. In the south of the city, guided tours follow the Obamas’ footsteps – with a stop at the villa that Michelle and Barack still own. And in Jackson Park, not far away, the 70-meter-high museum is almost finished, “The Obama Presidential Center”, costing $830 million. The most expensive presidential museum of all time, a huge concrete block in a green park.
