A black-green government after the federal election next year? What at least parts of the Greens see as an option remains unthinkable for the CSU leader.
CSU leader Markus Söder continues to rule out a black-green government after the 2025 federal election. “The traffic light coalition urgently needs to be replaced – and the Greens are the ideological core of this government. That is why the Greens must not continue to be responsible for government,” wrote the Bavarian Prime Minister on Platform X. He accused the Greens’ Economics Minister Robert Habeck of being the worst economics minister in the country’s history with regard to the phase-out of nuclear power and the heating law. “Bild” had previously reported on this.
Green Party parliamentary group leader Katharina Dröge had not ruled out an alliance with the Union in an interview with the “Süddeutsche Zeitung” (SZ). Green Party leader Omid Nouripour had also indicated his willingness for new constellations. Söder, on the other hand, spoke of the Greens’ “simply embarrassing” attempt to curry favor with the Union. “For the CSU, it is absolutely clear: no black-green after the next election!”
