The health authorities were ordered by decree to work with the police to step up controls of the 3-G and 2-G rule. This applies to various areas, but key controls are planned for gastronomy and nighttime gastronomy, said Health Minister Wolfgang Mckstein (Greens) and Tourism Minister Elisabeth Kstinger (VP) on Monday.
“Here and there there is currently a lack of access controls,” said Mckstein. “Therefore I am now instructing the local authorities by decree to monitor compliance with the 3-G and 2-G rule more intensively. A focus should be placed on the catering trade.” The aim is to keep it open “and have a good start into autumn”.
“It is also in the interest of the catering establishments to check the 3-G and 2-G certificates of their guests in order to prevent clusters from developing in this area,” emphasized Tourism Minister Kstinger. “Only compliance with and consistent monitoring of the 3G and 2D rules will ensure that we keep the number of infections under control.” The politician once again appealed to the population to get vaccinated.
