After the terror attack in Solingen, NRW Prime Minister Hendrik Wüst calls for star more border controls – and a systematic screening of communication platforms such as Telegram.
In Mannheim, an Afghan kills a policeman, in Solingen A Syrian stabs three festival-goers. Does Germany have a security problem, Mr. Wüst?
That was an act of terror. We must clearly call it by its name and draw the right conclusions from it. Three things must happen now: Irregular migration to Germany must not only be limited, but must be stopped. We must examine asylum law for loopholes and obstacles that make deportations more difficult. We must also clarify whether our authorities have the necessary legal instruments to combat terrorism.
