The iPhone, which has been on the market for 15 years now, is Apple’s workhorse and is partly responsible for a company value of a sensational three trillion US dollars. But what exactly is this company doing so damn well? And what is it that makes it so fascinating?
The iPhone is actually a smartphone like any other. Critics would add that you cannot expand the memory, at least not with an SD card, and you cannot determine where to store your data. In general, the iPhone feels very comfortable in its own Apple environment. And yet it is incredibly popular – and has been since it was born 15 years ago.
“I just like using the products because they don’t annoy me”
Technology expert Christian Hensen explains in the podcast “Today important”, where this attraction comes from: “Apple really understood how to market this thing as a sexy gadget and not as a cold piece of technology.” So an attitude towards life is sold and also a status symbol. In an interview with Michel Abdollahi, Hensen says: “I just like using the products because they don’t annoy me.” And Apple’s success can be broken down into this formula.

Podcast “important today”
Sure, opinionated, on the 12: “Today important” is not just a news podcast. We set topics and initiate debates – with poise and sometimes uncomfortably. Host Michel Abdollahi and his team speak out for this stern– and RTL reporters: inside with the most exciting people from politics, society and entertainment. They let all voices have their say, the quiet and the loud. Anyone who hears “important today” starts the day well informed and can have a sound say.
“Today important” host Michel Abdollahi, on the other hand, does not come out as an iPhone fan: “I can’t get anything out of that. Well, I hate Apple, to put it bluntly, I can’t stand it. I grew up with Windows . ” And so, since the introduction of the iPhone, there have been two very clear camps that usually cannot be convinced. Expert Christian Hensen still has a service tip for everyone who had an iPhone under the Christmas tree: do not reset the old device under any circumstances. Setting up the new smartphone is now almost entirely possible with the data and apps of the old device.
Habeck’s climate protection plans
In addition, we talked to our colleague and political expert Martin to Roxel about the opening balance for climate protection by Economic and Climate Protection Minister Robert Habeck in the “heute important” podcast. It was not a good start for the new minister because Germany will not be able to achieve its climate targets in the near future. A climate protection turbo is now necessary in order to become climate-neutral by the year 2045, as planned – that means tripling the speed of emissions reduction.
Martin to Roxel explains in the podcast that the task for the new “super minister” will not be easy – because the image of Germany has to change for this: Huge wind parks and solar systems are needed. That costs a lot of money and can become a “mammoth task” for Habeck, because the entire country has to be convinced of the climate targets, according to Roxel.
