School has started again in Israel, including in the north, where rockets fly almost daily. How do students there experience everyday life during the war? From botched final exams to hostage outfits.
One day before school started, rockets were flying through the sky again. 40 of them were aimed at the Western Galilee region – the northwest of Israel. Hezbollah missiles keep hitting the area, and fields are going up in flames. No other region of Israel is currently as badly affected by the war as the one on the border with Lebanon.
The last day of the summer holidays ended for many children in the region in the shelter. The new school year on September 1st began the way the last one had ended – in war. In northern Israel, thousands of students have left their homes, entire schools have moved, and Arab-Bedouin villages on the border fear for their existence. This is how students and families are coping with their new everyday lives.
