Kamala Harris did a lot of things right in the heated debate. But why she is still a long way from her goal.
Before we get to the cats, let’s take a quick look at the situation: Expectations were huge before this TV debate. Media people styled it as the “most important debate in history”. Voters, it was said, knew pretty much everything they needed to know about Donald Trump, but they were still wondering where Kamala Harris stood and what type of politician she was. The Democrats’ nervous hopes were therefore particularly high: Perhaps she would convince undecided voters if they just heard more about her.
