Russia is trying to liberate the area occupied by the Ukrainians near Kursk. Russian refugees fear for the lives of their relatives – they know how their army operates.
“On September 11, the Russian army began its offensive on Sudzha. If the Ukrainian army decides to defend itself in the city, the chances of civilians surviving are minimal.”
These shocking words are contained in a petition that around 100 relatives of civilians who remained in the territory occupied by Ukraine addressed to Russian President Vladimir Putin on Thursday, as well as to Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky, the United Nations and the Red Cross. They are calling for the immediate establishment of a humanitarian corridor for the civilians. Otherwise, they fear the worst.
