It is unclear whether Donald Trump would even admit defeat. If so, the upcoming presidential election in the USA will be his last as a candidate.
Former US President Donald Trump does not want to run again in the 2028 presidential election if he loses the election in November. He cannot imagine running again in this case, said the 78-year-old Republican presidential candidate in an interview with the television production “Full Measure” published on Sunday. “I think that’s it then.” But he is of course hoping for “success” in the election on November 5. There were no further questions from the interviewer.
Donald Trump does not want a second TV debate
The polls currently indicate an extremely close race between Trump and the Democratic candidate, Vice President Kamala Harris. The decision will most likely be made on November 5 in the so-called swing states – i.e. US states in which the race is traditionally close.
Apparently in order to influence the mood there in her favor, Harris had challenged her opponent to another televised debate over the weekend. This was rejected by Trump. Officially, the Republican argued that it was “simply too late” for another debate.
According to polls and the majority opinion of political commentators, Harris won the first TV debate against Trump on September 10. She pushed the Republican onto the defensive with numerous targeted attacks.

It is unclear whether Trump will accept the result if the Democrat wins. After losing the 2020 election to Democrat Joe Biden, incumbent Trump tried to turn his defeat into a victory. On January 6, 2021, supporters of the Republican violently stormed the Capitol in Washington to prevent the official certification of Biden’s victory in the presidential election.
To this day, Trump continues to spread unsubstantiated claims about election fraud and avoids questions about whether he will accept the result of this year’s presidential election. Observers fear that if he loses, he could once again sow doubts about the election outcome.
