Ukraine war: Ministry: Ukraine rejects temporary occupation

Ukrainian President Zelensky is in the USA with a plan to defeat the aggressor Russia. The overall plan is still unknown, but details are emerging.

In the search for a peace solution, Ukraine rejects any idea of accepting a temporary occupation of territories by Russia. This was announced by the Foreign Ministry in Kiev. The complete withdrawal from the territory of Ukraine within its internationally recognized borders is “one of the obligatory points of the peace formula of Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelenskyy”. Russia occupies about a fifth of the neighboring country and claims at least five administrative regions in the southeast of the country as well as the Crimean peninsula, which was annexed in 2014.

Kyiv does not want “temporary solutions”

Zelensky is currently in the USA to present his plan for victory in the war of aggression unleashed by Moscow. So far, the plans are only known in outline. The Foreign Ministry stated that interim solutions “cannot restore complete peace, but only postpone the war”. The pressure on Russia to evacuate the occupied territories must be increased. “This is a realistic scenario that we can implement through joint efforts.”
