Middle East: Authorities: Almost 100 dead after new attacks in Lebanon

The Israeli military has been massively attacking targets in Lebanon for days. The background is the conflict with the Shiite Hezbollah militia. Dozens of people die every day.

According to authorities, at least 92 people were killed in one day in renewed Israeli attacks in Lebanon. More than 150 people were injured, the Lebanese Ministry of Health said.

A total of 40 people were killed in attacks in the Nabatieh district in the southeast and the neighboring district in the southwest of the country. In further attacks in the Bekaa Valley in the east of the country, 23 people were killed by Israeli air strikes. 25 people were killed in the Baalbek district in the northeast. According to the ministry, four more people died in the Mount Lebanon district, which also includes the suburbs of the capital Beirut.

According to its own statements, Israel’s air force attacked around 220 targets of the Lebanese Hezbollah militia in the neighboring country. The military said the targets included members of the Iran-backed Shiite group, weapons depots and rocket launchers.

More than 700 people have been killed since Israel’s renewed massive wave of attacks in Lebanon on Monday. The authorities generally do not differentiate between civilians and Hezbollah members when providing information.
