During the US election, newspaper recommendations for presidential candidates are common. A renowned US newspaper leaves no doubt who the winner should be.
The editorial board of the renowned US newspaper “New York Times” gave a recommendation for the Democratic candidate Kamala Harris a good month before the presidential election in the USA. “Kamala Harris is the only choice”writes the so-called Editorial Board of the newspaper in an opinion article published on Monday. The Republican candidate Donald Trump, on the other hand, is unsuitable.
In surveys, the two opponents are neck and neck. The election will take place on November 5th. In the USA it is common for newspapers to give election recommendations. The “New York Times” emphasizes that the Editorial Board is a committee of opinion journalists and is independent of the newsroom.
Not Harris “the perfect candidate” in US elections
The newspaper wrote that it was difficult to imagine a more unworthy candidate for the office of US President than Trump, who has now been convicted of criminal offenses. “He has proven himself morally unfit for office.” Trump has proven that he is temperamentally unsuitable for a position that requires qualities such as wisdom, honesty, empathy, courage, restraint, modesty and discipline – qualities that he lacks most. “If American voters do not stand up to him, Mr. Trump will have the power to inflict deep and lasting damage on our democracy.”
“That’s why, regardless of any policy differences voters may have with her, Kamala Harris is the only patriotic choice for president”it continued. Although she may not be the perfect candidate for every voter, especially those who are frustrated and angered by the government’s failures on issues ranging from immigration to housing costs to gun violence. “However, we urge Americans to compare Ms. Harris’ record with that of her opponent. Ms. Harris is more than a necessary alternative.”
