An ex-employee of AfD politician Maximilian Krah is said to have spied for China. Now an acquaintance of the man has been arrested, who is said to have provided him with information about weapons deliveries.
She is said to have spied as an agent for a Chinese secret service in Germany and has now been arrested because of it. An investigating judge at the Federal Court of Justice executed the arrest warrant against the Chinese national on Monday, said a spokeswoman for the Federal Prosecutor’s Office in Karlsruhe. The accused was caught by officers from the Federal Criminal Police Office in Leipzig and her apartment and workplace were searched.

According to the Federal Prosecutor General, Yaqi X. worked for a company that provides logistics services, including at Leipzig/Halle Airport. In the period from mid-August 2023 to mid-February 2024, the accused repeatedly provided an employee of a Chinese secret service with information about flights, cargo and passengers at the airport. This particularly included information about the transport of military equipment and people with connections to a German defense company. This defendant, named Jian G., has been in custody since April. The accusation is that he acted as an agent for a foreign secret service in a particularly serious case.
According to the Federal Prosecutor General, Jian G. passed on information from the EU Parliament. He is said to have worked for AfD MEP Maximilian Krah since 2019. He also spied on Chinese opposition members in Germany for the intelligence service.
