Hamas attack on Israel: Police union warns of riots on October 7th

It will soon be the first anniversary of the Hamas massacre in Israel. Since that day there have been massive protests in Germany again and again. The police are preparing for large-scale operations.

Police unions warn of riots on the anniversary of the Hamas attack on Israel on October 7th. “We expect decency from all people in Germany on the anniversary of October 7th,” said the federal chairman of the police union (GdP), Jochen Kopelke, to the editorial network Germany (RND). We take robust and consistent action against violent criminals and rioters. On that day, all security authorities in Germany had an “enormous need for personnel”.

Dynamic situation expected in Berlin

Berlin’s GdP spokesman Benjamin Jendro told the RND that a “city-wide, dynamic situation” was expected in the capital. He said: “We are looking forward to the coming days with great concern. We have already seen in the past few days that the pro-Palestinian scene’s propensity for violence on our streets is once again escalating into hatred, anti-Semitism and excessive violence.” In his opinion, the latest developments between Israel, Lebanon and Iran will have an impact on gatherings in the capital.

The massacre carried out by terrorists from Hamas and other extremist groups on October 7 in the border area with the Gaza Strip, which sparked the Gaza war. On the Israeli side, more than 1,200 people were killed and around 250 others were taken hostage in the Gaza Strip. In Germany, the conflict triggered numerous, sometimes violent, pro-Palestinian demonstrations.
