Ukraine remains under heavy pressure on the Eastern Front. Russia is now reporting the capture of another town not far from a strategically important city.
The Russian military says it has captured another town in the Donetsk region of eastern Ukraine. The Russian Defense Ministry said units of Army Group South had taken over the settlement of Schelanne Druhe. Before the war, Schelanne Druhe once had more than 200 residents. The town is located on the eastern bank of the Vovcha River, just a few kilometers from the strategically important city of Kurakhove.
Russia has been waging its war of aggression against Ukraine for more than two and a half years. In recent months, Moscow’s troops have been able to make major gains in territory in eastern Ukraine and occupy a number of towns.
