Allegedly, Russian anti-aircraft defense mistakenly shot down one of its own fighter jets during a mission against targets in Ukraine.
According to a report from the Ukrainian military leadership, Russian anti-aircraft defense mistakenly shot down one of its own fighter jets. The plane was over occupied territory in Donbass to drop guided glide bombs on Ukrainian positions when it was hit by Russian anti-aircraft missiles, Ukrainska Pravda reported, citing the air force command in Kiev.
Video footage of a downed Russian Su-25 fighter jet was published. However, it was unclear whether this was actually the plane mentioned, which was shot down by our own troops.
According to a list in which the Ukrainian military publishes the alleged losses of Russian troops, Russia has already lost 368 aircraft since the start of the war over two and a half years ago. The information cannot be independently verified.
