In no other major industrial nation is the economy growing as poorly as in Germany. The IMF has lowered its forecast again. Linnemann calls for a 2030 Agenda.
CDU General Secretary Carsten Linnemann warns of an irreversible downward spiral in the German economy. “The IMF forecast shows that Germany is really in danger of getting into a downward spiral from which we will at some point no longer be able to get out,” Linnemann told the star. The CDU politician demanded: “We urgently need to pull the lever.”
Carsten Linnemann wants an “Agenda 2030”
The International Monetary Fund (IMF) had previously reduced the growth forecast for the current year in Germany to zero. Only an increase of 0.8 percent is expected for the coming year. That is 0.5 percentage points less than previously assumed. In the second quarter of this year, the German economy actually contracted surprisingly.
Linnemann therefore called for more efforts from the federal government to get the economy going again: “The most important thing is planning security for the economy,” said the CDU General Secretary. “Germany needs a 2030 Agenda that addresses the major issues of taxes, skilled workers, energy prices and reducing bureaucracy.” The CDU will present concrete proposals for this in January.
