Ukraine War: Ukrainian military sees difficult situation on the Eastern Front

Russian troops are advancing ever further in eastern Ukraine. The defenders give them tough fights. But several cities are in danger of being overrun.

The Ukrainian army is under heavy pressure from the attacking Russian troops on the front in the east of the country. The General Staff in Kyiv spoke of a “difficult situation” in its morning report. The Russian army uses its superiority in soldiers and material for non-stop attacks.

The focus of the attacks was the mining town of Selydove in the Donetsk region, which had 23,000 inhabitants before the war. Ukrainian military observers reported that the Russians had entered the city. Russian Telegram channels showed images of the Russian flag flying on a high-rise building in Selydove. The town of Kurachivka, a few kilometers further south, is also at high risk.

Ukrainians near Kupyansk allegedly without supplies

According to military information in Moscow, the Russian army destroyed a supply line across the Oskil River at the Kupyansk-Vuzlovyi railway junction in the Kharkiv region. This information could not be independently verified. But it would mean that the Ukrainian troops on the east side of the river could hardly be supplied. Ukraine has been resisting a large-scale Russian invasion for more than two and a half years.
