Soldiers often cannot process the brutality experienced in Gaza. A report by the US broadcaster CNN reveals gruesome details of the operation – and its deadly consequences.
The images of his combat mission kept Eliran Mizrahi awake at night. 40 years old, not a professional soldier, but a reservist, actually an employee of a construction company and father of four children. After October 7th, Mizrahi went with the army to fight against Hamas in Gaza and wanted to help free the Israeli hostages. And he probably did things there that he couldn’t process.
In June, shortly before his second mission in Gaza, Eliran Mizrahi took his own life.
