Martial law has been in effect in Ukraine since the Russian invasion in February 2022. Mobilization was also ordered. Both measures have now been extended again.
The Ukrainian parliament has extended the martial law and mobilization imposed after the Russian invasion for another 90 days. A two-thirds majority of the Supreme Rada voted for both laws, as local media reported. Both bills were previously submitted by President Volodymyr Zelensky. The measures will now apply until the beginning of February next year.
Ukraine has been resisting a Russian invasion for over two and a half years. With a few exceptions, the mobilization includes, among other things, a ban on leaving the country for men of military age between 18 and 60.
