Former Hamas hostage: Was put in a cage for several days
Hostages have repeatedly described traumatic experiences of their captivity in the Gaza Strip. A young woman who was released almost a year ago is now reporting terrible details again.
A former hostage has reported depressing stories about her captivity in the Gaza Strip. “I was put in a cage with five young women,” the 22-year-old said at an Israeli consulate event in New York in a video published by the Israeli news site ynet. Your fellow prisoners will therefore continue to be held in the Gaza Strip.
The cage was only one and a half meters high and dark. She spent five days there. Two armed men took turns guarding the hostages.
The young woman, who has both Israeli and French citizenship, was released at the end of November 2023 as part of an agreement between the Israeli government and the Islamist Hamas. “My heart remains trapped in Gaza with five young women still held there, tortured and abused, deprived of air, in the depths of hell,” she said, according to the report.
While in captivity, a veterinarian reportedly operated on the young woman’s gunshot-wounded hand. Hamas also released a video of the injured woman being held hostage more than a year ago. Terrorists kidnapped her from the Nova music festival near the border with the Gaza Strip on October 7, 2023.
