Israel sees Iran’s nuclear program as an existential threat. According to Prime Minister Netanyahu, ending it remains one of the most important goals of his policy.
According to Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu, stopping Iran’s nuclear program remains the primary goal of his policy. “Stopping the nuclear program was and is our most important concern,” Netanyahu told soldiers. He never lost sight of this goal and the Israeli security services would not lose sight of it either.
Preventing Iran from obtaining nuclear weapons is the ultimate goal he has set for Israel’s armed forces and all security services, Netanyahu said. He could not go into detail about his plans in order not to endanger the “achievement of this ultimate goal.” Israel currently has more freedom of action in Iran than ever before. “If necessary, we can hit any place in Iran,” Netanyahu continued.
Israel views Iran’s nuclear program as an existential threat, especially given that it would potentially enable Iran to develop nuclear weapons. Before Israel’s most recent retaliatory strikes against Iran, there was great concern that nuclear facilities could also be hit, leading to further escalation.
