Ukraine attacks Russian region near the Urals

The drone war between Russia and Ukraine is expanding. Kiev is now targeting targets not far from the Ural Mountains, which separate Europe and Asia.

According to official information, industrial plants in the Russian republic of Bashkortostan in the foothills of the Ural Mountains have been attacked by drones. Window panes were destroyed in an energy company and two other enemy drones hit the industrial area, said Republic President Radi Khabirov on Telegram. There was no damage or casualties. The republic’s capital Ufa is more than 1,300 kilometers from the Ukrainian border.

Russia has been waging a war of aggression against neighboring Ukraine for more than two and a half years and is systematically shelling civilian targets in the hinterland. Meanwhile, Ukraine is also using its drones to attack targets in Russia that are further and further away from the border.

Bashkortostan was attacked by Ukrainian drones once in May. The region is further away from Ukraine than Kazan, where the Brics summit of emerging industrial nations recently took place.
