A power struggle has been simmering in the BSW for days between Sahra Wagenknecht and Thuringia’s top woman Katja Wolf. The federal leadership recently made a clear announcement to the people of Thuringia. Now comes the reaction.
The Thuringian BSW leadership around Katja Wolf has responded to the massive criticism from Sahra Wagenknecht and those around her. The state board “takes the BSW federal board’s assessment of the results achieved in the exploratory discussions very seriously,” it said in a statement. It forms the basis for the work in the coming days.
Wagenknecht and other BSW federal politicians had clearly criticized the exploratory results of the CDU, BSW and SPD in Thuringia and negotiated formulations on peace policy issues in the past few days. In a resolution, the federal executive board called on Thuringians to specify foreign policy positions in coalition negotiations – or to go into opposition.
The statement from the Thuringian BSW goes on to say that the state executive board has prepared intensively for the coalition negotiations. The aim is to form a stable government for Thuringia and to incorporate the goals in the election program into the future coalition agreement.
“In particular, it is about peace, because only it creates the basis for social and economic development in our democracy,” the paper says. In order to give more emphasis to the BSW’s central demands, citizens should be involved in a broad dialogue.
