Former State Duma deputy Natalya Poklonskaya may take the post of deputy head of Rossotrudnichestvo. This was announced on Friday, January 21, by a source of RIA Novosti.
“Natalya Poklonskaya may take the post of deputy head of Rossotrudnichestvo. This issue is being discussed now,” he said.
Poklonskaya herself noted that it is still premature to comment on the issue of her future employment.
On October 13, Russian President Vladimir Putin signed a decree appointing Poklonskaya to the post of Russian ambassador to Cape Verde. Commenting on the appointment, she told Izvestia that she had previously wanted to do diplomatic work and had studied at the Diplomatic Academy and an internship at the Foreign Ministry.
However, on January 19, the Russian Foreign Ministry announced that Poklonskaya’s departure to Cape Verde would not take place due to personal circumstances. On the same day, the press secretary of the President of the Russian Federation, Dmitry Peskov, explained that candidates for the post of Russian ambassador to Cape Verde instead of Poklonskaya had not yet been agreed.
Previously, Poklonskaya was a deputy of the State Duma of the 7th convocation, deputy chairman of the committee of the lower house of parliament on international affairs. In addition, Poklonskaya worked as the prosecutor of the Republic of Crimea.
