Israel claims responsibility for pager explosions in Lebanon

In September, thousands of Lebanese Hezbollah militia communications devices exploded. Dozens of people were killed and thousands injured. Israel is now admitting what everyone suspected.
Almost two months after the simultaneous explosions of thousands of portable radio receivers and walkie-talkies in Lebanon, Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu has admitted that his country was behind the attacks. His spokesman confirmed corresponding reports from Israeli media.
The explosions killed more than 40 people and injured more than 3,000. Most of them were members of the Lebanese Hezbollah militia, which is allied with Iran and is fighting against Israel. An unknown number of civilians were also injured.
The so-called pagers were secretly manufactured in Israel by the Israeli foreign secret service Mossad, as the Washington Post reported in October. The batteries were prepared with explosives that were detonated by a message. In order to view the message, you had to press two buttons at the same time – injuring both hands and thus incapacitating the recipient.
