According to military observers, the Russians are gaining ground around the small town of Kurachowe in the east of Ukraine. But that’s not the only place where they’re on the rise.
According to Ukrainian military observers, Russian troops have continued to advance in eastern Ukraine. In the small town of Kurakhove in the Donetsk region, which was threatened with encirclement and was heavily destroyed, the Russian troops continued to gain ground. They also made a foray into the city of Kupyansk in the northeastern Kharkiv region. This was confirmed by the Ukrainian General Staff, but the attack was largely repelled. Kupyansk is considered a strategically important railway junction on the Oskil River. The area was liberated in autumn 2022 as part of a Ukrainian counteroffensive after a good five months of occupation.
In the morning, Ukrainian air defense reported 59 nightly drone attacks from the Russian border region of Kursk. Of these, 21 drones were shot down in the Sumy, Kharkiv, Poltava and Kiev regions. 38 drones have disappeared from the radar again, which is mostly due to the use of electronic defense devices.
Ukraine has been defending itself against the large-scale Russian invasion with Western help for more than two and a half years.
