Boris Pistorius has been at the top of the weekly Insa politician rankings for a while. There is a change in last place.
A new survey on the popularity of politicians is giving new fuel to the debate about the SPD candidate for chancellor. In the politician ranking, which is compiled weekly by the Insa Institute for “Bild”, Chancellor Olaf Scholz slipped from 19th to 20th and last place, according to the newspaper for the first time. At the top of the ranking with a point scale of 1 to 100 is Defense Minister Boris Pistorius with 52.8, whom some in the SPD would prefer to see as a candidate for chancellor. Scholz has a value of 31.4.
Behind Pistorius are four Union politicians: CSU leader Markus Söder, North Rhine-Westphalia Prime Minister Hendrik Wüst, CDU leader and Union Chancellor candidate Friedrich Merz and Hesse’s Prime Minister Boris Rhein. Behind him follows SPD leader Lars Klingbeil. FDP leader Christian Lindner, AfD boss Tino Chrupalla and Interior Minister Nancy Faeser (SPD) rank ahead of Scholz in places 17 to 19.
On the Sunday question, however, the SPD can make slight gains. If there were a federal election on Sunday, the Social Democrats would get 16 percent, half a point more than in the previous week. The CDU/CSU (32 percent), the Greens (11 percent), the FDP (4.5 percent) and the AfD (19 percent), on the other hand, each have to give up half a percentage point. The BSW gains half a point to 7.5 percent.
