Peskov called fake hysteria Britain’s fears about the cessation of gas supplies to Europe

The fears of the British authorities about the termination of Russia’s supply of blue fuel to Europe are “fake hysteria.” This was announced on Monday, January 24, by Kremlin spokesman Dmitry Peskov.

“This is another brilliant example of fake hysteria. Hysteria, which is constructed through various fake and provocative stuffing, ”Peskov said.

The press secretary of the President of the Russian Federation noted that Russia has always been a “reliable guarantor of energy security” for Europe, even in the most difficult moments of relations.

“Russia flawlessly fulfilled its contractual obligations and never once gave anyone a reason to doubt its reliability,” Peskov concluded.

Earlier this day, The Times newspaper, citing sources in the British Cabinet, reported on the authorities’ fears about the reduction of gas supplies to Europe in the event of tough sanctions against Russia. The publication notes that British government ministers raised the issue of the impact of a possible reduction in Russian gas supplies on the price level in the UK.

A day earlier, Deputy Prime Minister of the Kingdom of Boris Johnson, Minister of Justice Dominic Raab announced the likelihood of the UK applying serious economic sanctions against Russia, not only in the event of an allegedly possible invasion of Ukraine, but also in an attempt to bring pro-Russian politicians to power in Kiev.

On January 22, The Telegraph reported that the UK government is considering taking a last resort in the form of disconnecting the Russian Federation from the SWIFT international interbank system in the event of a hypothetical country invasion of Ukraine.

On January 23, Russian Foreign Ministry spokeswoman Maria Zakharova said that the West is trying to prepare the information space for a number of major provocations. According to her, it is extremely important for the collective West, for NATO, for the Anglo-Saxons to create an information field, because without it they cannot act.

In the Western media, articles have repeatedly appeared about the allegedly possible Russian invasion of Ukraine. Against this background, American lawmakers are calling for tougher sanctions against Moscow. Russia has repeatedly rejected these data.
