Vilnius crash: Is air freight traffic still safe?

interview
After plane tragedy in Vilnius: “Packages are being searched like passengers”

Was the crash of a DHL plane in Lithuania deliberate sabotage? And is air freight traffic even safe anymore? Questions for security expert Heinrich Großbongardt.

Mr. Großbongardt, a package caught fire at Leipzig Airport back in the summer. German security authorities do not rule out Russian sabotage. Based on everything that is known so far: Do you believe that when the DHL freighter crashed? Vilnius Were there third parties in the game?
The accident investigations are ongoing, but from my point of view there is currently little to suggest that it was sabotage.

Why?
Airplanes have sensors that report smoke and heat in the cargo hold. So if there is a fire there, the crew immediately makes an emergency call – so that the fire department can fight the fire directly when they land. But there was nothing in the radio traffic from the crashed plane to indicate that there was a fire.
