The Russian-Ukrainian war claims victims every day. The warring parties exchanged bodies with international mediation for the second time in November.
Ukraine has received the bodies of 502 killed Ukrainian soldiers from Russia. Almost 400 come from front sections in the Donetsk region of eastern Ukraine, according to the coordination staff for prisoner of war issues. According to information, 64 of the soldiers died in the Zaporizhia region of southern Ukraine and another 24 in the Luhansk region in the east of the country. 17 are from morgues in Russia. In August, Ukrainian units advanced into the Russian border region of Kursk. To this day they hold an area of several hundred square kilometers.
According to Russian media reports, Moscow received 48 bodies of its own soldiers in return. The handover took place under the auspices of the International Red Cross. At the beginning of November, 563 soldiers’ bodies had already been handed over to the Ukrainian side. Due to the Russian advance, especially in the Donetsk region, the Ukrainian army cannot always recover its fallen soldiers.
Ukraine has been resisting a Russian invasion for over two and a half years.
