Notre Dame Cathedral is officially opening its doors again – and a special guest is there. The future US president wants to travel to the French capital for the major event.
US President-elect Donald Trump is traveling to Paris for the ceremonial reopening of Notre-Dame Cathedral. This is the first trip abroad since winning the presidential election at the beginning of November. “President Emmanuel Macron has done a wonderful job ensuring that Notre Dame is restored to its full glory and even more,” the Republican, who will return to the White House in January, wrote on the platform he co-founded.
CNN reported that Macron had invited Trump. The details have been discussed in the past few days. Trump wrote that it was an “honor” to be part of the reopening of Notre Dame. The over 850-year-old Gothic masterpiece in the center of the French capital Paris is scheduled to officially reopen on December 7th. A major fire severely damaged the cathedral in April 2019.
