Nancy Pelosi, who is also considered a close ally of President Biden, has been a member of the House of Representatives in Washington for a good 30 years. She is running again in November.
The Speaker of the US House of Representatives, Democrat Nancy Pelosi, intends to run again for the mandate of her constituency in the state of California in November’s election.
Much progress has already been made, “but much more needs to be done to improve people’s lives,” Pelosi said in a video message distributed on Twitter. The elections are of paramount importance, it is about protecting democracy itself, Pelosi said.
The 81-year-old has been a member of the House of Representatives in Washington for her constituency in San Francisco for a good 30 years. As Chair of the Chamber of Congress, she holds the third-highest office in the state ex officio, behind the President and Vice-President. Pelosi is considered an important ally of Democratic head of state Joe Biden (79).
In November, all seats in the House of Representatives and about a third of the seats in the Senate will be up for re-election. The Democrats hope to defend or expand their narrow majority in both chambers. However, polls currently give the Republicans a good chance of securing the majority.
