If Notre Dame can heal, so can France? The images of the burning roof of the Paris Cathedral went around the world in 2019 – now there are those of its resurrection.

These are stormy days for France – another government has collapsed, and once again President Emmanuel Macron has to pick up the pieces. The country is hungry for good news. Trump, Steinmeier, Zelensky: High-ranking visitors to the reopening of Notre-Dame

They have already proven at the Olympic Games this year that the Parisians can enchant with spectacular opening ceremonies. On Saturday evening, however, the celebrations were much more dignified than in the summer – probably also due to the extremely noble audience.

Around 3,000 people took part in the ceremonial reopening of the cathedral, which was partially ablaze in April 2019, including around 40 heads of state and government. Among them are US President-elect Donald Trump, Ukrainian President Volodymyr Selenskyi and Federal President Frank-Walter Steinmeier.
