Zelensky: Many North Koreans were involved in Russian attacks

North Korean soldiers have been in Russia since October. According to Selenskyj, Moscow is continually expanding their deployment on the front – with fatal consequences.

According to Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky, the Russian military is now using North Korean soldiers in attacks in its own Kursk border region in larger numbers. “The losses in this category are also significant,” said Zelensky in the evening video message. He didn’t give any numbers. Zelenskyj accused Russian President Vladimir Putin of deliberately expanding the war against Ukraine and ignoring calls from China and Brazil to do everything possible to de-escalate.

The first reports of North Korean soldiers being sent to Russia emerged in October. At the beginning of November, Ukraine reported for the first time that these soldiers were involved in combat. According to Zelenskyj, the North Koreans are now largely integrated into Russian units and could soon appear on other sectors of the front.

The Ukrainian head of state also announced that he would be committed to Syria. It is important for his country that stability returns there as quickly as possible so that the world can then focus on establishing peace in Ukraine. Zelensky also offered Syria grain deliveries as part of the “Grain from Ukraine” program.

The now overthrown, long-time ruler of Syria, Bashar al-Assad, was considered a protégé of Kremlin leader Putin, who has now offered him asylum in Russia. The future of Russian military bases is still unclear.
