A woman suspects she was poisoned. She is taken to the Charité isolation ward. Her son is a prominent Kremlin critic. He says his suspicions have not been confirmed.

Russian Kremlin critic Vladimir Kara-Mursa has confirmed that his mother is being treated at the Berlin Charité. The suspicion of poisoning and a heart attack has not been confirmed, Kara-Mursa wrote on Telegram and X in the evening. The investigations are continuing. Kara-Mursa asked that his family’s privacy be respected.

The police had previously announced that they were investigating the case of a German-Russian woman on suspicion of attempted murder. The woman expressed suspicion that she had been poisoned. According to police at X, she was taken to the isolation ward at the Berlin Charité. A police spokeswoman said the woman complained of nausea and called an ambulance. According to information on X, she told doctors that she suspected she had been poisoned.

“Blood tests for all types of toxic substances are being carried out. All necessary police measures to maintain public safety, but also to identify potential suspects, are in progress,” the police said. Police did not say who the woman was.

Kara-Mursa is one of the most prominent Russian opposition figures. He was sentenced to 25 years in a camp there in April 2023 on charges of high treason, but was released in August of this year during a prisoner exchange between Russia and the West and flown out of Russia. The now 42-year-old has already survived two poison attacks.
