New Russian drone swarms over Ukraine

The Russian reserves of combat drones appear to be inexhaustible. Swarms of unmanned missiles are again circling in the sky over Ukraine.

Russia attacked Ukraine again with drone attacks late in the evening. Ukrainian air defense reported swarms of drones flying in from different directions. The targets of the combat drones were initially not apparent due to the constantly changing flight directions. With this tactic, the Russian military is trying to overload the Ukrainian air defense system.

Russia is trying to wear down the Ukrainian population with ever-increasing drone and missile attacks. Many of the attacks are directed against Ukraine’s energy infrastructure in order to bring the supply of electricity – including water and district heating – to a standstill.

Russian President Vladimir Putin only threatened retaliation this morning after a Ukrainian drone attack on the Russian city of Kazan on the Volga. “Whoever tries to destroy something in our country will face many times the destruction in our country and will still regret what he tried to do in our country,” the Russian president said in a televised video conference.

On Saturday morning, six Ukrainian drones hit residential buildings in Kazan and another hit an industrial property. According to official information, there were no injuries in the attack. Kazan is located more than 1,000 kilometers from the border with Ukraine. Although Ukraine has not yet officially claimed responsibility for the attack, it is considered to be its response to a Russian missile attack against Kiev.
