The 78-year-old was being treated for flu. But he’s back home just in time for Christmas.
Former US President Bill Clinton has been released after a short hospital stay in the capital Washington. The 78-year-old was treated there for flu, as his deputy chief of staff Angel Ureña announced on the X platform.
Clinton would like to thank the medical staff for their “extraordinary care” and wish everyone a “happy and healthy holiday season.” Ureña had already informed about the former president’s hospitalization the day before.
The Democrat was president from 1993 to 2001. His term in office was overshadowed by the Lewinsky affair and subsequent impeachment proceedings, which he, however, survived politically. His wife Hillary Clinton, who served as a senator and secretary of state, also ran for president in 2016 but was defeated by Republican Donald Trump.
