In the third winter of the war, Russia is also targeting Ukraine’s energy supply with attacks. There is no electricity in several regions.
After serious Russian attacks on Ukraine, power went out in several regions. Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelenskyj reported this on Platform X this morning. He spoke of more than 70 missiles – including ballistic ones – and more than 100 drones that Russia had fired at the country. The goal was the energy infrastructure. “They continue to fight for a blackout in Ukraine,” Zelensky accused the Russians.
The information cannot be independently verified.
Preliminary reports indicate that more than 50 missiles and a “significant” number of drones were intercepted, Zelensky said. But not all attacks could have been repelled. Technicians were working to restore power as quickly as possible.
There had been a nationwide air alert in Ukraine. Zelensky accused Russian President Vladimir Putin of deliberately ordering the attacks on Christmas. “What could be more inhumane?” he asked.
