The Houthi militia repeatedly fires rockets towards Israel. The Israeli military is now attacking targets in Yemen again.
Israel’s army has confirmed air force attacks against positions in Yemen. The military said the target was, among other things, the infrastructure of the Houthi militia at the international airport in the capital Sanaa. Fighter jets also attacked areas in several ports, including Hudaydah, and two power plants in the country.
Israel accused the Houthi militia of using civilian infrastructure for military purposes, such as smuggling weapons from Iran. The attacks took place on targets on the west coast and inland. The information cannot be independently verified.
The Houthi militia has repeatedly attacked Israel with drones and rockets, it was also said to justify the attacks. There had recently been frequent rocket alarms in the greater Tel Aviv area due to the attacks. The Israeli air force chief had announced tougher counterattacks in Yemen.
The Houthis, like Hamas in the Gaza Strip and the Lebanese Hezbollah militia, are allied with Israel’s arch-enemy Iran. Israel had previously attacked Yemen several times.
