Hamas authority: 50 dead in attack on building in Beit Lahia

The north of the Gaza Strip remains heavily contested. There are said to have been many victims again in an attack on a house next to a clinic.
An Israeli airstrike on a building in the north of the Gaza Strip has killed at least 50 people, according to the Hamas-controlled health authority.
The victims also included five employees of an adjacent clinic in the city of Beit Lahia, said a statement from the authority and the director of the Kamal Adwan Hospital, Hussam Abu Safeia. The victims are said to be a pediatrician, a laboratory technician, two paramedics and a technician.
The information could not initially be independently verified. The Israeli army did not initially comment on the report when asked.
The Israeli military meanwhile reported a soldier killed in fighting in the north of the Gaza Strip.
